>Another Saturday night full of fun and games! Brewers and Packers both won, so the Hot Dog guy is celebrating by wearing the cheesehead. Did anyone else see Mike Holmgren’s face after that return with multiple holding penalties? Whoa.

>Funday Sunday on — Saturday night?
>Let’s see the TV listings. Brewers play the Astros at 6:00, and Packers play the Steelers at 6:30. The Brewers are neck in neck with the Cubs for the leading record in the National League. The Packers are playing a preseason game. Doesn’t count for the record, and the starters will only play the first quarter if they even play that long.
What to watch?
The answer, sports fans, is obvious.
Score update!! Both Brewers and Packers won Saturday night. doesn’t Damian Miller look cute in his Cheesehead?
>I rock!
>Scribbit has awarded me the Rockin’ Blogger award! I read her almost daily and I really enjoy her site, so based on its source, this recognition is a great compliment. I shouldn’t let this go to my head, but she described me as “… an excellent writer and has a top-notch blog I love.” Wow!
Many of my blogging virtual friends are in Chicago this weekend for the BlogHer conference. (My last trip to the big city included a hot, steamy baseball game, not a businesslike conference.) I chose not to go to BlogHer, but I will look into the transcripts of sessions from the volunteers who were sweet enough to live blog them. Meanwhile, I will rest with the knowledge that even though I’m not hobnobbing with the blogging A-listers, according to at least one marvelous blogger, I still rock!
Compost Happens is approaching a major milestone: my 10,000th hit. I didn’t add the stat counter immediately in the beginning, so there are a few hits missing, but I know it didn’t miss a significant number. I think I may have to have a party when I reach 10,000.

That’s peppermint and chamomile in the cappuccino cup, by the way. I got the seeds in a free sample pack from Celestial Seasonings.
The souvenir cups are rather pricey at the stadium, so finding a new use for them is quite rewarding. We’re going to a White Sox game this afternoon. It’s going to be hot, so I might just add to this collection.
>Funday Sunday with the family
>Summer fun includes baseball! Amigo plays in a league of his own, and the family goes to games and enjoys the sport. It helps that our Milwaukee Brewers are doing well this year. It might actually be tough (gulp) to get tickets to Miller Park!
So here’s the family with three of the famous racing sausages. Sausages from left to right: Hot Dog, Polish Sausage, and Bratwurst. Family: back row, me and Husband; front row, La Petite and Amigo. Missing: Italian and Chorizo (Chorizo is new this year and doesn’t have a bendable toy — yet).
>Daisy’s Top Ten List: #4 is TRUE
>4. My favorite teams are the Green Bay Packers, The Milwaukee Brewers, and Gryffindor House Quidditch.
Oh, and the Packer Petunias are thriving.
MamaBlogga has suggested another Group Writing Project, one I couldn’t resist. Her topic is: “Three Things I’d Like my Children to…” and then it’s open ended. Scribbit, in a departure from her usual cheery self, wrote a serious yet optimistic post about “Three things I’d like my children to appreciate.” Jordan, the MamaBlogga herself, has a growing list of all submissions, including links so that you can read them yourself.
Reading Scribbit’s monthly Write-Away contests can be fascinating. I’ve found many, many good blogs and read too many great posts to count. This Project looks quite promising in that vein. If you’d like to read my post on the topic, it’ll be up tomorrow in honor of Love Thursday. If you’d like to enter, the link will also be up tomorrow.
>Funday Sunday
>It was minor league baseball time last night. Amigo’s Little League team had tickets, so we joined the other families to cheer on the locals. A game at Fox Cities Stadium is more than just a game; it’s an event. Contests, freebies, fireworks, and more, make this a great family fun night.
A local band was playing outside the stadium, and Fang the mascot was dancing with fans. Oreo cookies’ equivalent to the weinermobile was outside with their own mascot, a giant cookie.
We didn’t catch any foul balls or flying t-shirts, but Amigo responded when the announcer asked fans to stand up and hold their Pepsi products in the air. Apparently his enthusiasm with the Mountain Dew bottle was obvious, because the usher chose him to win a prize. Free soda? A gift certificate for Pepsi products? Nothing so mundane.
He won four tickets to a White Sox game two weeks from today.
I guess it’s time for a road trip to Chicago!

We’re still working on the baseball side of the display. I know we have bendables of three other racing sausages (directly to the right of the cap, the Hot Dog guy), so I’ll keep looking. Amigo and husband brought home the bobbleheads last year. The plastic souvenir cap was either filled with ice cream or nachos (yes, I washed it) at another game in Miller Park.
Well, bratwurst, Polish, and Italian sausages, you can run, but you can’t hide. I know you’re around somewhere!
