I started blogging in 2006 as a way to express myself and deal with the everyday stresses of life as we know it. I continue to blog because it’s cheaper than therapy and an outlet for the creative writer that still raises its hand now and then and says, “Me! Call on me!”
Compost Happens is a personal blog: part family, part garden, part crunchy green eco-writer. I’m Daisy, and I’m the groundskeeper here. I take care of family, garden, and coffee. I teach, too; see the other “about” page for details. .
Hi, Daisy!
I just found your site by randomly searching blogs on composting. Here in post-industrial Troy, NY we’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for our youth entreprise, “Food Cycle” – pedal-powered compost delivery. Yep, with neighborhood youth, we are building compost-hauling cargo bicycles. (“We” is a collaboration of two collectives here, Troy Bike Rescue and Collard City Growers.) We’ve sort of tapped out our local networks for fundraising through this campaign and need to reach wider networks. Will you please help us spread the word? You might like our video; you’ll get a sense of both organizations and how we work.
Thank you!

Yours in nutrient-rich living,

This sounds great! I’ll look into your kickstarter campaign.
Sharron Klein here- you FVC pie baker for the month of Nov. I’m interested in composting, but no time for details now. I need to start peeling apples now. I save all my organic garbage now, but would like more information about how to use it better. Later…
